If you’re a last-minute shopper — and if you’re a regular reader of the Strategist, I know you’re a last-minute shopper — your time to buy a Valentine’s Day gift is dwindling. The good news is that I, too, am a last-minute shopper who still needs to find a Valentine’s Day gift for my husband (and a birthday gift for my mom and a birthday gift for my father-in-law), so that’s what I was searching for in the sales bins this morning. The even better news is that the Presidents’ Day sales are starting to roll out, so the pickings are good, with lots of discounts hovering between 40 to 60 percent.

Scroll through to find some treats for your valentine, even if your valentine is your tiny dog or yourself, and don’t forget to subscribe to our email newsletter for even more sales. (You can also check out all of our best Valentine’s Day gift ideas if you’re still feeling stumped.)

Nordstrom’s Winter Sale is well underway, and though our deals editor Sam Daly pulled together some of her favorite picks here, I did another dive and found lots of things that would make good Valentine’s Day gifts — like this handsome trio of Boy Smells candles.

It’s rare to find Birkenstocks on sale — especially in almost all sizes — so I don’t expect this deal to last. And for whatever it’s worth, I would be delighted to receive these for Valentine’s Day, especially in this pretty pink.

For him, some classic UGG Scuffs, in a not-so-easy-to-stain burgundy.

If you’re looking for something festive but casual to wear on your Valentine’s date, consider this Skims bodysuit with a pair of jeans.

I gasped when I saw this Pendleton dog sweater in the exact same print as what the Dude wears in The Big Lebowski. It’s only on sale for extra-small dogs, so I do hope someone buys it and sends me a photo of their Chihuahua wearing it.

This isn’t the biggest discount, but maybe it’s just enough to convince you to buy the bag and hand out Ring Pops on February 14. (At just $0.32 per ring, you’re not going to find a better deal on jewelry.)

This Klorane dry shampoo is a gentle powder, rather than a spray, so it not only does a great job at sopping up grease, it also lasts a long time. (I stocked up on this dry shampoo the last time I was in Paris, about eight months ago — and I’m still working through the first bottle.)

This is a product that dares to ask, “Jelly pudding mask?” right on its packaging. The answer is yes, and this gel-like cream is ultrahydrating for winter skin.

J.Crew is having a sale-on-sale-on-sale. It’s taking 50 percent off already on-sale items, and then you add the code EXTRA at checkout for an additional 15 percent off. That brings these Carel-esque Mary Janes down to just $102.

Here are some pinstriped pajamas for your lucky valentine …

… and a handsome throw blanket to tuck them into.

No one would suspect this stylish trench is from Patagonia — but because it’s from Patagonia, it’ll keep you dry in any weather.

It’s not exactly the season for Natives, but if your kid has grown since last summer, it’s not a bad time to stock up on a new pair.

Here’s a charming, not kitschy doormat, made from high-quality coir.

A quick way to zhuzh your bathroom in this dreary winter weather is with this color-blocked shower curtain.

Yes, this lamp that looks like a pearl sitting on a shell comes from West Elm’s kids’ section — but that can be our little secret.
